Former Dynamo Moscow forward Igor Kolyvanov has confidently stated that Zenit St. Petersburg will not relinquish their lead in the Russian Premier League title race. Currently sitting at the top of the league table with 65 points, Zenit holds a two-point advantage over second-placed Krasnodar (63 points) with just one match remaining.
Speaking about the recent matchday 29 results, Kolyvanov praised Dynamo Moscow’s performance after they defeated Krasnodar 2-1 at home. “Dynamo were simply fantastic against Krasnodar! But if Boselli had converted his chance in the second half, the outcome could have been different,” he commented.
Kolyvanov emphasized that Zenit is now in a commanding position. “Zenit will not miss their chance to become champions this time. In the final match, they face Rostov. By every metric, the St. Petersburg side is stronger than their opponent and are clear favorites. Zenit will do everything to beat Rostov and secure the title — that’s beyond doubt,” he declared.
The decisive final round of the RPL season will see Zenit host Rostov, with the league champions expected to be crowned on the day.
