Vitória Guimarães suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at home against Casa Pia in a tightly contested Primeira Liga encounter. The only goal of the match came in the 85th minute when Gaizka Larrazabal scored with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box, assisted by João Marques.
Casa Pia had to make several substitutions due to injuries, including José Fonte replacing an injured Gaizka Larrazabal in the 95th minute and Abdu Dafé coming on for Clau Mendes in the 94th minute. Vitória Guimarães pushed for an equalizer but were denied by solid defending and a post hit by Zeega in the 82nd minute.
Vitória Guimarães’ Beni and Rodrigo Abascal received yellow cards for dangerous play in the 77th and 75th minutes respectively. Despite late pressure and a chance from Alioune Ndoye in the 90th minute, Vitória could not find the back of the net. Casa Pia held on to secure all three points.
