Demi Vollering claimed her second victory at La Flèche Wallonne Féminine after a breathtaking ascent of the Mur de Huy. The 29-year-old Dutch rider held off a late charge from compatriot Puck Pieterse to take the win.
Following the men’s race, which was won by Paul Seixas, attention turned to the women’s edition. Three riders stood out as pre-race favorites: seven-time champion Anna van der Breggen (Team SD Worx – Protime), the recent standout winner (FDJ United – SUEZ), and defending champion Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Premier Tech).
A two-rider breakaway, featuring Katrine Aalerud (Uno-X Mobility) and French rider Axelle Dubau-Prévot (EF Education-Oatly), animated the early stages. However, the peloton—led by strong work from FDJ United – SUEZ and Team SD Worx – Protime—kept the duo under control. The escapees’ fate was sealed, and the decisive battle would unfold on the legendary Mur de Huy, with its gradients exceeding 20%.
Elise Chabbey set a fierce pace before Vollering took over. The Dutchwoman quickly went solo and seemed unstoppable. Just as victory appeared certain, Pieterse launched her attack, closing the gap meter by meter, but ultimately fell short of repeating her triumph.
With this win, Vollering secures her second La Flèche Wallonne Féminine title, following her incredible Ardennes triple in 2023. It is also a major success for FDJ United – SUEZ. Sunday’s Amstel Gold Race winner, Paula Blasi (UAE Team ADQ), completed the podium.
